Jamie Waugaman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) with nearly two decades of experience in the mental health field. Since earning her LCSW in 2008, Jamie has dedicated her career to supporting individuals through life's challenges with compassion and evidence-based care.

She began her professional journey in community mental health, later spending 10 years serving military populations - including active duty service members, veterans, and their families. This work deepened her understanding of trauma, resilience, and the unique stressors faced by those connected to military life. 

​

In 2009, Jamie completed specialized training in EMDR therapy and other trauma therapies while working with military clients, marking a turning point in her clinical focus. Since then, she has continued to develop her expertise in treating trauma-related issues helping clients navigate the impacts of PTSD, complex trauma, and life transitions with skill and empathy. 

In 2019, Jamie transitioned into private practice and is now the co-founder of Arrow Counseling & Wellness, where she continues her mission to provide inclusive, person-centered therapy in a welcoming environment. 

Outside of her work, Jamie enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband and their two children.

Macie Thomas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a deep passion for supporting women through all stages of life. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health from East Carolina University, and earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.

Macie began her journey in the mental health field in 2016, working as part of the mental health team at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. She went on to serve in community mental health, where she provided Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) for children under age five and their caregivers—a role that deepened her commitment to early intervention and relational healing.

Today, Macie specializes in women’s mental health, offering compassionate and informed care around challenges such as infertility, postpartum adjustment, hormonal transitions, and menopause. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration, helping clients feel seen, supported, and empowered in their personal journeys.

Macie creates a safe and welcoming space for clients to explore their emotional health with honesty and vulnerability. She understands that mental health is deeply interconnected with physical, relational, and spiritual wellbeing—especially for women navigating complex life transitions.

Heather Brown is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) with a degree in Health and Wellness Promotion, along with certifications in both wellness coaching and personal training. She brings a unique combination of clinical coordination and compassionate care to her dual role as Office Manager and Health Coach at Arrow Counseling and Wellness.

With a passion for helping women improve their metabolism naturally, Heather specializes in guiding clients through sustainable lifestyle changes using a holistic approach. Her coaching programs focus on balancing hormones and addressing the root causes of chronic symptoms like fatigue, digestive issues, weight gain, and stress. She empowers her clients through education, whole food nutrition, stress management tools, sleep support, movement and gut restoration protocols.

Outside of work, Heather loves spending quality time with her adult sons—whether it's attending live sporting events, enjoying concerts, or simply hanging out and catching up. Her grounded, empathetic presence makes her both a trusted resource and a relatable coach for women navigating their wellness journey.

Brandy Mayberry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) who graduated in May of 2025 with her Masters in Social Work from East Carolina University. She graduated in December of 2015 with a Bachelor's of Science in Health Sciences with a minor in public health and healthcare organizational management from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. 

She has a strong passion for working with people in different capacities, including experience working with non-profit organizations, health insurance companies, and schools. She completed two years of service with AmeriCorps NCCC and VISTA which allowed her to work with non-profits in multiple states doing projects that included long term disaster relief, mentoring organizations, and food security. Her work in service has provided a deeper understanding to how different environments can impact mental health in both adults and children. Brandy has previously provided therapy at the Albemarle Regional Health Services and is committed to working with people in the community in all walks of life on their mental health journey. 

Brandy is originally from Fredericksburg, Virginia and moved to the Elizabeth City area in 2022. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, kayaking, playing video games, and spending time with her husband and their pets. 

Sydney received her education from The Institute of Epidermal Cell Therapy. With over a year of hands-on experience in the skincare industry, Sydney has found her professional calling in bridging the connection between skincare and mental wellness. Her approach is rooted in the belief that true healing happens both internally and externally. Through personalized, trauma-informed care, Sydney creates a safe and calming space where clients can reconnect with themselves, feel nurtured, and leave each session with a renewed sense of confidence and liberation. 

Alexis received her education at the Institute of Epidermal Cell Therapy. She has a deep passion for holistic skincare and personalized client care. After completing her training, Alexis spent a year working alongside her instructor, focusing on integrative approaches to skin healing.

Alexis's personal experience during pregnancy, combined with advanced education, has guided her toward specializing in skin concerns related to hormonal changes - particularly during pregnancy and the postpartum period. She understands firsthand how these shifts can affect the skin and is passionate about helping clients navigate these changes with trust, care, and confidence.

Whether supporting clients through hormonal imbalances, sensitive skin, or general wellness, her goal is to treat the skin from the inside out - fostering long-term balance and radiance through gentle, effective treatments.
